daun86,
If you're running the DVI to VGA, you want to make sure that your video card is sending one of the accepted resolutions (listed in the manual) and that your overscan is off on the video card.
Most users can either update the BIOS or video card drivers and experience a bit of luck that way.
Dell laptops often have a Function F8 key combination before it will send the signal out, so don't forget to toggle that as well.
Keep me posted.

im very new to this and its my first time connecting a PC to my TV. The TV has a VGA slot under the (PC In) label. So i thought i could just buy a DVI to VGA connector (since my xps has no vga slot, only dvi) and it would work. Well when I did this, the TV shows the PC input, but it says "no signal" then you hear a clicking sound and the screen goes blank. The TV is still powered on but the screen is blank.
I have no clue what to do so please, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to look at the other forum posts but no luck ![]()
*** Ive been researching and I have a question, do I purchase a DVI to HDMI cable and connect my PC to my TV that way? If so, do i have to purchase anything else ? How do i get my sound on my PC to work on my TV?
I'm sorry if these questions has already been asked somewhere else, I just couldnt find it. Thanks in advance ^^
