Oh sorry, I seem to have posted this in the wrong forum.
Can somebody please move this to the appropriate forum, peripherals I guess is the logical place. Thanks.
I have an Asus X55C laptop with no support for Bluetooth. By wife bought a Sony SRS-BTM8 speaker so I bought a USB-BT400 bluetooth dongle in order to be able to play music through the speaker from my laptop.
My problem is my Laptop won't recognise the speaker. My phone can see the laptop and vice versa, the phone can see the speaker, but the laptop cannot see the speaker.
I have spoken to support for both the dongle and speaker and both saying no reason is should not work and must be the other guys fault.

Could it be that the speaker supports bluetooth 3 and the and the dongle bluetooth 2. This is unlikely according to what I have read but what else could it be?
