With the current set up, I actually do not have internet connectivity when connected to "Original_Wifi_signal" either. But when I removed the second RE450 from the equation and reboot my laptop, I was able to reconnect to "Original_Wifi_signal" just fine.
Here's my current set up --
One router near the middle of the house, and one TP-Link RE450 extender successfully connected to it on one end of the house. I have a second RE450 that I am trying to connect to the router from the other end of the house.
I have been able to set up the second RE450 to connect to the wifi connection being broadcast by the router (let's call just call that one "Original_Wifi_signal"), and have configured it to re-broadcast it as "Second_Wifi_signal". Note that the first RE450 is re-broadcasting the same SSID.
Using a laptop, I am able to see and connect to "Second_Wifi_signal". However, there is no internet connectivity. When I check the second RE450's config page, I see this for the connection status -- http://imgur.com/UUlPttY
I thought okay, maybe there's some kind of conflict with the first RE450's IP address perhaps, so I disabled its 'Obtain IP address automatically' config and manually assigned an IP address (with a matching 'Default Gateway'). Of course, the IP address I manually assigned is within the 'range' of the router's own IP address. E.g. the router's address is 192.168.0.1 so I manually assigned 192.168.0.123. But, still no dice with the internet connection.
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions please?
