problem connect Asus N53S notebook to Samsung LE tv

by fruikx / November 19, 2011 9:12 PM PST

laptop specs; Asus N53S with Nvidia GT540M,
Samsung LE40A786R2F led tv,
connection with HDMI cable (high spd cable) to HDMI port 2 on tv, renamed port in tv menu to PC.
when connecting, both aparatus do not see each other. Connecting another laptop to the samsung tv there is no problem; it show the laptop straight away even without renaming tv HDMI port.
when connecting the Asus N53S to Philips tv it also connect properly.
connecting problem seem to be apparent only with Samsung tv,
any suggestions are welcome

Found I had to update both the Nvidia and Intel drivers. If you are not skilled at computers I strongly suggest you do not update the BIOS. Great way to force your machine to a service counter.
