Problem by installing a virtual printer on W7

by IJLacerda / May 5, 2012 4:23 AM PDT

I used until now a virtual printer who makes PDF files and send them direct to an editor. It's called BoD_easyprint_de.
It always worked on XP and now I was told that it works on Windows 7 64x. Just on my Windows 7 64x Laptop doesn't work. I can download the program and start installing it. Right at the end the installation stops, shows a problem by installing the driver and error 216 and closes the installation. I tried almost everything but I can't find any solution. Does anyone knows what is the problem or this error 216?

you also posted this in here;

If Windows 7's Compatibility Mode wizard doesn't help then you will need to go back to whoever told you that this software works on Win 7 and ask them for more details.

I see there is a web site for at and perhaps their help and support or their forums can help.

The only other alternative I can think of for this software, and it would only work if your Windows 7 is the Professional or Ultimate version, is to download and install Microsoft's free Virtual PC and free XP Mode, which installs XP 'within' Windows 7 as a virtual OS. Then install the software into that.

There are other virtual printers available, listed here; ad I have seen CutePDF mentioned often in these forums.

Hi Mark!
Thank you a lot. I'm going to try some the possibilities. says it is a security problem. Microsoft sayz it is a compatibility problem. I myself installed the driver on a friend's W7 64 Laptop and it worked. That's why I ask.
