Probably asked a million times, but...AT&T vs Broadband

Feb 15, 2009 4:35AM PST

Thinking of switching from Comcast to an AT&T bundle...

Only AT&T internet available to me right now is the Express service...

Afraid that I'll lose performance with that level. Anyone have that level of service and if so, does it perform well?? And, anyone that has switched from broadband have a comparison?

ATT is broadband

but your probably to far from a rt or the co to enjoy the higher speed tiers. I have ATT @ 10,000kbps/1.500kbps, but can still upgrade to 18,000kbps. I would call that broadband. I would stay with Comcast if I were you, because the Express DSL won't impress you.

AT&T vs Comcast

I don't necessarily need it to be better (would be great)...just don't want to lose. I've done the speed tests on this site and it comes back with Comcast consistently under the 1.5 that AT&T promises all of the time.

I'm told that the Broadband promises of super speed mean that it is "capable"...but you may only get that intense speed for a few minutes per day when usage is low...

With Comcast you get Boost

or whatever they call it. Very fast for a minute or so, then to a steady speed, whatever that may be. With ATT, there is no Boost and you have "pppoe" overhead. 1500kb only = 1300kb max speed or less.
