After the intitial installation, Netzero dial-up uses a download process to upgrade itself to the most current version. It will download the Version 7.0 upgrade while you're on the internet, and it will also ask permission to download the upgrade when you attempt to shut down Netzero. (When you attempt to close Netzero, the program will ask permission to continue the upgrade and it requires the computer to stay online. The download is fairly large and can take 30-60 minutes, depending on your connection rate.) Make sure to leave the connection running so the upgrade can occur...(Error 17 indicates that an unstable connection has stopped the update.) You could also try disabling any firewall you are using till after the upgrade..

If you're still having problems, you might be able to check the "Help" section for Netzero in the Start-Programs menu. The error messages are listed there. Then again, if you have just recently installed the program, the "Help" section may not be installed yet.
