Pro Logic II settings and ASC problem on theatre system

by Dannyajm / August 5, 2009 1:32 PM PDT

I'm trying to figure out the difference between the "Matrix" setting and the "Pro Logic" setting for the Pro Logic II mode on my HT-TZ422 theatre system. It the user guide it says the Pro Logic setting is only using the front right and left speakers but when I set it to that sound seems to come out of all speakers anyways. I just want to know which one I should be using for normal TV viewing.

Also how do I set up the Auto Sound Calibration feature on the sound system? The user guide is very vague about it and pressing the ASC button dosen't seem to do anything even after I've plugged in the calibration mic. Help would be appreciated Happy

Pro Logic II settings and ASC problem on theatre system

Dannyajm,

Which region are you in? I'm trying to download the manual to help you out. Usually the settings have to do with different "flavors" of audio processing that the unit is able to do, and with what signal is being input with different connections.

The ASC calibration should operate as normal, but there can't be a disc in the tray while it's auto calibrating. Try removing the disc, setting your mic according to the manual, and pressing the button again.

I'm in BC, Canada. This is the link to the User guide which contains descriptions of the Pro Logic II modes and how to set up ASC:

http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/download/supportDown.do?model_nm=HT-TZ422&mType=UM&vType=L&disp_nm=HT-TZ422

Does the system have to be in any particular mode to perform the ASC? I've tried it in DVD stop mode without any disc as well as AUX 1 and Digital IN modes but on each of them pressing the ASC button alone doesn't seem to take any effect even with the mic plugged in. Could it be a defect?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
