I need to print texts from Samsung Galaxy II. Apparently this is not easy. Anyone know of an app that is reliable and inexpensive or free?

Most current HP printers have a free ePrint application that allows you to print from a cell phone to a remote printer connected to a network. I am certain that the majority of major printer manufacturers have a similar tool/application. Need more information to be of help.

....downloaded the ePrint application to your phone yet? Do you have an internet router setup ? Check the internet settings for the printer through the printer control panel. I print from my phone to my HP Office Jet Pro from time to time. Try checking the HP site to learn more about ePrint. Hope that helps.

Select text from SMS message

Then, copy to a word processing program on your Android handset (see android marketplace). Cut and paste that text into a basic document that can be attached to an email message, and sent to yourself. Open that email on your PC, then print to your local or network printer. This may be slightly easier method than dealing w/ HP's eprint IMO.
