Printing problem

Jun 4, 2004 11:24PM PDT

Windows XP, Printer Hp photosmart 7550

Several days ago, when starting computer, I had the following message on the screen:
Unable to load driver for HPHipm11.exe (HPHipm11.exe)

Was unable to print anything. I went through the troubleshooter wizzard and everything was fine, was told to restart the computer. I did, and the items in the to be printed list, printed out fine. This happens everytime I try to print anything, I select print, nothing, shut down and restart computer and the printer works.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.........Jo

You might try reinstaling the hardware. Remove the program from add remove programs first.
Good Luck

Jo,

I would check with HP's support to verify you have the latest driver for your printer. If no success why not remove the printer and re-install to see if that corrects the problem. Sometimes we must keep trying things.

Best of luck,

First of all, Thank you to Cunal and Glenn for responding to my post.

I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. It worked!!! Thank you so very much!!!

Now, I checked with HP and was told that this problem happens sometimes when Zone alarm has been installed. I had just received an update notice from Zone Alarm, and updated as per instructions. So it's possible that was the problem. Just in case anyone else gets this problem.....
Thanks again......Jo

It's me again! Same problem....shut down computer and when turn it on again same message.
So, what do I do? HP suggested uninstalling ZoneAlarm, they didn't say anything about reinstalling it. So what do I do for a firewall if I uninstall it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.........Jo

You can enable Windows XP's Internet Connection Firewall (IFC) to replace ZoneAlarm but there is no protection for anything leaving your computer as in ZoneAlarm. Maybe this will be useful as a temporary measure. I use ZoneAlarm and have for years therefore have no suggestion for a replacement.

Best of luck,

Glenn
