General discussion

Printing out search results.

Dec 18, 2003 8:40PM PST

OS= Windows Me.
Using Start>Search for files....
Question- how do I print out the search results ? There is nowhere to evoke the print function, and 'Ctrl+P' does not bring out the print dialogue window.

Papa,

Good question. I've searched around and at this point can only find a "workaround". I've found a method that will work as long as the search results don't extend beyond a full page. After doing the search, enlarge the window to "full" screen, then while holding down the "Alt" key, press the "Printscrn" key at the same time, so that a copy of the page is posted to the "clipboard". Now open the MSPaint program (usually Start-Programs-Accessories-Paint), then click on "Edit" in the upper left of the Paint window, choose "paste". The picture will be pasted to the Paint window. You can then click on "File" in the upper left of the Paint window, choose "print".

Hope this helps.

My only workaround was to not use Explorer.

I've been burnt too many times by Explorer so I use other file explorers like Gyula's Navigator. There are at least one hundred others. Try a few.
