General discussion

printing from the web

Jun 25, 2010 11:10AM PDT

I have W7 Home Premium, and most of my web work is done via Mozilla Firefox v 3.6.4. When I want to print something using the task bar while in Firefox, ie, file - print preview, the result is about a 1/3 page view. It will only print the left 1/3 of the page. This only happens in firefox. Everything else prints fine.

I've checked all the settings I can think of and they look ok to me.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

The good and bad news is.

That there are many discussions about printing from web pages. That area is one that is still in development. Let's get you up to date on the efforts -> http://www.westciv.com/style_master/academy/css_tutorial/advanced/printing.html

If you read this highly technical document the ONE THING to take away is that the author of the web page needs to put hints into the web page to get better printing.

Until then you should see printing from browsers to succeed, fail and rarely be the same from browser to browser.
