Printing From PC To Airport Express Connected Printer

Mar 17, 2006 1:09AM PST

I have an Epson RX700 printer connected to an Airport Express base station. I can print from my Mac (20" iMac G5 1.8Ghz, OS X 10.4.4, Airport Extreme card), but not from my PC (2.6 Ghz P4, Windows XP Home) on the same wireless network (PC has Netgear card).
When I send a print job from the PC I don't get any error messages - the driver status window shows that the job was sent, but the printer doesn't respond.
I used Bonjour to on the PC side to set up the printer.
File sharing and internet access seem to be working fine.
Any ideas?

Did you configure the Airport express printing capability? -- its on the airport express configuration page (Airport Admin Utility)

and of course, you might want to read the help file or the manual.

Been there, done that.

Yes. Printing is enabled on the Airport Express - apparently automatically when a connected printer is detected by the Airport Express. If printing wasn't enabled I wouldn't be able to print from my Mac (as I stated, I can). And, yes I downloaded and installed the latest Epson driver on my PC. And, again, I used Bonjour to configure wireless printing on the PC.
The help file really wasn't much help.

Ok, when you install the printer on the pc

did you try to test print.. does it work?

how about IP address, are they in the same range..

By the way.. Usually when you install a USB printer (directly to a pc), you need to install the driver first then plug the printer... did you try that?

did you try the latest Airport express Firmware too?

Still not working

Everything seems to act normal (on the PC) when a print job is sent from the PC to the printer, with the exception that the printer does not respond.

Yes, the IP address is correct.

The print driver was installed first on the PC before I used Bonjour. When a print job is sent from the PC the Epson print monitor launches (on the PC) and displays information showing that the print job was sent successfully. I get no response from the printer.

My Airport Express has the latest firmware.
