printing from MAC via PC

Jul 20, 2005 8:08AM PDT

Hi,
I have a local network with a PC (XP) and a (MAC OS X). They run on the same router and share internet/network fine.

I need to get the mac to be able to print on the EPSON printer. I have the printer set-up on the PC and this prints fine. I can 'see' the printer in the MAC printer properties and have set it as default printer on the mac etc.

When printing from the mac, the printer starts printing, but it prints info related to the document I'm trying to print, but not the actual document ? It's info such as the document name and properties (date created, creator name etc) but not the actual document.

I've played with all setting but with not luck, please, if someone can help, very much appreciated.

I'm obvously very close and have read this is possible.

Thanks in advance.

Printing via a PC

This is one trick that I have not yet been able to achieve.
I assume that you have the correct drivers for that printer loaded on the Mac.
Have you tried this the other way around? Put the printer on the Mac and share it and see if the PC will print to it.
I seem to remember reading, somewhere, that the Mac to Pc Printing left a bit to be desired.

Keep us posted

states on apple it can be done
Jul 21, 2005 12:48AM PDT

Hi, I have seen on apple that this configuration is a new feature in OS X. I'm so close (It prints from the MAC via the pc, which is connected to the printer, it just prints the document properties (author name, filename etc) not the actual document, so I think I'm very close.)

Appreciate any further feedback or ideas on settings.

Thanks.

OK,
Things change depending on what OS version you are using.
With this information we can probably move along
OS 10.x.x ??
