Printing from IE favorites sites

Feb 12, 2006 11:47PM PST

I have XP and use IE for access. I operate an ecommerce business and use pages from the businesses for printing to support the products. I had no problem printing pages before the new beta version of IE was installed. Now I am kicked off IE when attempting to print a page. Opting back to version 6 leaves me in the same situation. Not able to print without being kicked off saying there was an error and has to shut down. Any thoughts? Thank you. J.P.B.

Never use a beta ...

in a production environment like yours. It only can give troubles. If you want to play with it, do it on a spare machine or test machine.

That being said, all I can suggest is:
- System Restore to before you installed IE 7
- try Firefox (www.mozilla.org) to print
- download and run IEFIX
- reinstall printer drivers
- clean install of XP if everything else fails

Hope this helps.

1. Printers are usually among the easiest peripheral devices to install and use but if you're experiencing printing problems with IE, be sure that you have obtained the latest IE SP1.

3. When you receive "an error has occurred in the script on this page" when printing from the Web, turn off Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) (Tools, Internet Explorer, Advanced tab, Settings, and clear the check box). Please note that clearing this box subsequently circumvents the use of IE add-ons such as the Yahoo and/or Google Toolbar.
