Printing A3 sizes.

I need to print photos at A3, (i.e. 2 X A4) sizes. Would a digital camera with 5 mega pixels suffice, taking the picture at maximun resolution and minimum compression (super fine mode) ? I am looking at the Canon Powershot S2 IS, or Canon Powershot IXUS i Zoom (SD30 Digital ELPH). Thanks for suggestions and advice.

Assuming a minimum of 150 pixels per inch when printing,

a 5 megapixel camera cannot completely fill an A3 sized paper. It does come close, but is short by about 17%.

BTW, minimizing the amount of compression helps to retain detail and avoid artifacts, but it will not increase resolution.
