Resolved Question

Printer..unable to clean

Jan 12, 2014 9:47PM PST

Hi,

I have a Brother MFC420cn. It recently started to show message "unable to clean"...check user manual troubleshooting $ maintenance. I have unplugged, restarted several times. I have looked for foreign objects..found none. I have replaced black ink cartridge(it was not empty). I cannot find anything visibly wrong. The scanner will scan to PC, the fax works..(no confirmation printed). obviously the printer function will not work without cleaning first.

Another minor problem..I downloaded BRAdmin Professional(thought I might find a solution). It will not detect my printer. I actually have this printer hooked directly to a win 8.1 PC(not on a network).

Thank you,
Hal Paddock

Brother error 46

There is an online tutorial on how to fix that error, go to a search engine, Google, etc., punch in Brother error 46, take a look at the tutorial, follow the instructional and see if it gets the job done

Glad to help. Brother doesn't make a bad printer, in fact I like some of their lasers a lot but their software can get a little hokey...Best of luck!
