When you use Windows sharing on peers such information is cached around the network. I will not write a tutorial on this but suffice it to say that such names can float around a Windows network for up to 45 days (that's the longest I've seen it linger) until the last machine forgets about it.
The news is slightly better if you run Windows Server with AD or Domains but you didn't share from that but XP.
There are no plans to fix this and you might clear it off if you try the old NET USE command on a machine that shows it.
If you have an extra share, you would have corrected that.
Hello to all. I have shared my color printer on the LAN. Printer share name is "colorprinter).
Now when i am going to add printer on lan it shows two shared printer
1.Color Printer (when I try to add with this share it returns error as shown below image
2.Colorprinter (when i add with this share name) It works fine
Now i want to delete share "Color Printer" because it is confusing Lan users and each time they call me for help. How may i delete this share. Please help
