You need a laser printer on the network and to understand that color is still pricey and will cost more.
Laser b/w may be boring but it's far cheaper. Just don't fall into the trap of using it as a copier.
Need a recommendation. At our school, we have a computer lab that has a printing output of about 200 pages per day, both black & white and color. The current printer we are using is an HP Business Inkjet 1100d, which does fine, except that we are having to replace the ink cartridges almost weekly. That is quite a hassle, and it's quite expensive.
I'm trying to find a new printer to replace that one, either another ink jet or a color laser. But I need one that has ink or toner cartridges that can handle more than the 1,750 supposedly handled by the 1100d's, so that we're not constantly having to change the cartridges. We can't afford to be spending astronomical amounts on ink or toner, though, so even though I need one with a higher capacity, I need one where the per-page cost of ink or toner is around the same (or preferably lower) than it is for our current printer.
It would also be nice to have one that has a large paper input capacity, as the teacher is always having to refill the current printer's paper tray. Network interface and double-sided features are not particularly needed.
