Question

printer problem

Mar 10, 2016 3:44PM PST

I have a dell desktop windows 7 home edition with a printer along side of it. The printer is HPlaserjet P1102w. Ihave no trouble printing anything on it from my desk top. But my wife has a laptop in another room that runs off my router and modem. I cannot print anything from her laptop on my printer next to my desktop as I used to. The printer is new and is exactly the same model. and I had no problem printing anything from her laptop remotely before installing the new printer. How do I fix this??

There's only a partilal story here.

Did you install the printer and software per the directions?

I would be guessing here you replaced a printer and expected it to just work because it's the same printer. That rarely works.

uses an IP address to communicate. So you have to setup up the printer to the network then you have to install it on the laptop. When you set it up on the laptop just search your network and if the printer is connected it should come back an show if found your HP Laserjet and allow you to add it.
