Question

Printer indicates "error" since the last Win-10 update

Jul 9, 2017 2:45PM PDT

Hello,

I have a Canon MP560 printer (wireless) and since the last Win-10 update, it won't print. Tried several things but none have worked so far.
If anyone can help or offer a new suggestion, I would be grateful.

Thanks! jnulr

For me the fix was simple. Went to canon.com to get the latest drivers and installed them.

Forums are wonky today.

So I'll check back tomorrow.

Try telling more such as if other PCs can print and if you setup the printer as when it was new.

Do More..Uninstall Printer, Then Reinstall With New Software
Jul 10, 2017 10:58AM PDT

I've had to uninstall/reinstall printers on a number of Windows 10 upgrades/updates. Not sure what happens during the upgrade, but it fouls up the printers. And if any computers on the network share that printer, they'll probably need to be uninstalled and added again on those computers.

Hope this helps.

The buzz on Win10 updates

It appears some users have bad updates. Something will go wonky. Thus, the best advise is to totally un-install the device, do a registry clean-up(I use CCleaner), reboot and install the latest install s/w from the vendor/maker. Get the s/w prior to all this, no short-cuts as in trying to install w/o de-installing 1st.. If it still fails then allow the driver update service(online) and "updating driver option" within checking device driver area of control panel.

Try this
unplug printer from power source
wait for a short period of time
hold down the power button on the printer for a minimum of 60 seconds
plug the power cord in and try.
