Go to the printer's web site and download the drivers. Some web sites will have the complete software package for download. I doubt going through add printer in the control panel will work.
Hey everybody,
I'm pretty sure I'm putting this in the wrong section of the forum but what the hell might as well try. I recently bought a pribter, I set it up on my old crappy computer, but then when I got my new computer I couldn't find the cd to install it, I've looked high and low and have now just accepted the fact that it's gone. So i opened up the control panel, then went to Printers and other hardware (I'm on XP) Then I went to the add a printer section, and that's when I got lost, eventually I somehow got to a section that said install manually, I tried that and I needed to find my printer type, I looked for the Lexmark X1100 series but couldn't find it, it then told me to look for compatable software but I have no idea which one it is compatible to. So if any can figure out what I'm doing wrong or what I need to do and can tell me I would be very grateful. Thanks.
