Print spooler fails with "Could not start the Print Spooler Service on Local Computer - Error 2"
I read here and there and see that eI might fix by issuing
Problem is that it doesn't work. Keeps asking for a cd that it won't recognise. Tried 3 different xp sp3 cds (yes I have sp3) without success.
Also copied I386 folder on C:/ and pointed the windows file protection to c:/ rather than the cd media. That damn windows file protection, invariably, keep asking for a cd. Where does it even get it from that the installation path is in E:/ instead of C:/?!?
Tried the same cds on a different computer and windows file protection goes all the way.
Resorted to trying a repair installation with a win cd. Problem there is that I do not get either a recovery consol or a repair intallation option. Just goes straight to install. That's with all my cds (2 of those being sure are Volume License) on either of my 2 pcs. No damn repair option.
Shall I just hang myself?
