Print in "read view"

Nov 26, 2004 12:33AM PST

Hi,

I enjoy reading in the "reading layout" view and can't seem to print like that. Is there a way to pring from the reading layout view?

Thanks.

What application could this apply to?

With just what's in your post, I can only write that many Microsoft Office applications have limited as-supplied printing methods.

You may want to post a followup with what application and versions as well as exactly how you print now.

Ok, thanks

Microsoft Office 2003 and I am using Word.

I print now using the print key but am now printing up a transcript and need to print in the reading view so it appears side by side.

Word 2003 doesn't have a View Reading item.

Sorry to pressure you on this, but when I pull up the View on Word 2003, I don't see a "Reading" view.

As such I can't follow what your view is.

Word 2003 does have a View Reading item!

Oops. I had to try another machine. Looks like someone had modified that one to look like Office 2000.

Ok, I see that from http://www.microsoft.com/office/word/prodinfo/overview.mspx that it's just a two-up page view.

Some printers allow 2-up printing. Since Word doesn't offer such, you'll have to see if your printer offers it.

Another end-run about the 2-up if your printer doesn't do such is to produce a PDF and the Adobe software will allow 2-up printing.

Many solutions, but none will be a "click-here" one.

I have e doc pro which converts to pdf and also have acrobat. How would I make pages side by side in either of those?

Thank you for your responses.

I wouldn't.

Here's why. I just use the printing options for 2-up and viola, I have side by side printouts.
