print dialog box does not show in MS Word

Mar 12, 2006 8:54AM PST

Hello everybody,
I can't get the print dialog box to show up in Microsoft Word. When I do File>Print nothing happens. I try to use Ctrl+P combination - no result. I looked in the Options to maybe find something that I need to check or uncheck - nothing. However, the print icon in Standard Toolbar works fine but it does not give me the options to customize printing.
All other MS Office and non-MS applications work properly.
Thank you

Try the standard solution. Use Explorer to find all occurrences of normal.dot and delete them.

Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. Deleted the Normal.dot, even completely reinstalled Office, but the print box does not show up. Thanks.

Try sharing the version of Word, the Windows OS and the printer make, model, connection.

Solved it. But it's risky

Using regedit, I renamed the Microsoft Office registry to OLD and let office recreate it. This only worked for me because other users could log into the computer and Word would work, so I knew it was user specific.0000
