PrimoPDF only works ONCE... Help!

Mar 26, 2011 6:59AM PDT

I just installed the PrimoPDF program to Print any file to create a PDF file.

Windows XP
Browsers: Opera and MSIE
Lots of RAM, speed, etc.

On the internet using browsers: Opera and MSIE

I tested printing web pages.

On both browsers, I went to a website, printed to a PDF file, looked good, went to another website, tried to Print again to a PDF file, DOES NOT WORK! I have tried everything I can think of to make it work... NOTHING seems to work.

Surely I do not have to close a bowser and get back into it, to print again!

I have never been so frustrated in a LONG time!

Something SUCKS big time...

Any ideas? I'm at a complete loss.

Thank you,
Joe

A few things...
Mar 26, 2011 3:06PM PDT

1.) What exactly happens when you go File->print, press CTRL + P, et cetera?

2.) Have you tried reinstalling PrimoPDF and restarting your computer?

3.) If the problems persist, you can try another PDF printer, such as Bullzip PDF, another free option.

Let us know.

Answers to Questions 1, 2, & 3...

1.) What exactly happens when you go File->print, press CTRL + P, et cetera?

A small pop window... "Printing Page 1,2,3,4, etc." & closes (popup goes away.

A moment later, another screen pops up where I can enter Title, etc., then click "Create PDF"... The First time, it works and creates the PDF. After doing the same thing, at another website, everything is exactly the same EXCEPT, after clicking "Create PDF", nothing happens.

2.) Have you tried reinstalling PrimoPDF and restarting your computer?

No... It does seem to be working... BUT only ONCE per browser.

3.) If the problems persist, you can try another PDF printer, such as Bullzip PDF, another free option.

Yep, I guess I could... BUT, with so many reviews of 5 stars, it seems like there is something that I need to do to make it work.

I think I'll try going into other programs & see if they would work... WordPad, NotePad, etc., etc. Will let you know...

Thank you,
Joe

Are you trying the option "Save as: Ask when creating pdf"?
Aug 31, 2012 4:46PM PDT

I used primopdf for years - then, just stopped working, tried reinstalling but nothing. I always used the option "Ask when creating pdf".

So I tried the option "Specific folder", it asked me for a folder, and saved my pdf there. NOW I can select the "Ask when creating pdf" option and it will present the folder I identified when I tried the "Specific folder" option, but I can select what I want and it now works again.

Hope this helps! It was a very random thing to just stop working after years of trouble free use, it must have lost some config info.

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply/answer - I had the exact same thing happen to me and
couldn't figure out why.

The 'Specific folder' trick worked for me... I would have hated to give up my
PrimoPDF after all these years!

Thanks also!

I have had similar trouble and thought Primo pdf was dead in the water!

I used the specific folder trick and it seems to have resurrected itself!!

Many thanks

Use "Save as:" option Twice to reset
Jul 12, 2013 2:33PM PDT

When PrimoPDF stalls after selecting "Create PDF".

The workaround is to "Save as" once to Specific folder, then "Save as" again to Ask when creating PDF. Now "Create PDF" will work when clicked.

Setting the "Save as:" option TWICE in the same print window seems to reset the function of the printing.
