Question

Priceeless Chrome extension

Apr 12, 2015 12:11AM PDT

Priceeless Chrome extension is from what I can gather a trojan which interferes with Chrome by pop ups appearing on every screen.
I can disable it through settings and extensions but when I restart chrome there it is again, most annoying.
After searching the web everyone seems to know about the trojan but no-one can tell me how to rid my machine of it.
I have been advised to use virus/malware checkers and those I have used have been useless.
Among those used have been
Microsoft Security Essentials
ADWCleaner
CCleaner
Hitman Pro
JRT
Malwarebytes
Spy hunter
Trojan Killer.

I have done searches for the word 'Priceeless' and found nothing.
I have done a regedit search and found two entries for the word and deleted them but it has made no difference.
I am at my wits end... I don't really want the annoying situation of re installing windows but I seem to keep coming back to this seemingly wasteful answer.
I did come across what I thought would be the answer by deleting some files that the writer had suggested. This seemed to be the answer but the files were in a folder that I could not get into The file is on the C:drive under Users/:name:/application data. And whatever I do I cannot get into that file even altering the access to hidden files/folders etc.

Is there anyone out there that can end my misery.....

Goozzie

Priceeless Chrome extension

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your suggestion but I have tried that and can stop the ads for that particular session but as soon as Chrome is shut down and re-started Priceeless is there again as an extension.

Then there is some other ad/maware besides the extension.
