Welcome to the forum.
Retailers set the prices for these units, and we don't control what they sell them for. Take a look at the units and ask questions from the salespeople to see why. I'm sure there are some differences, and they'll have a much better explanation than anything I can speculate.

I'm interested in upgrading my 20 year old analog TV to one of the newer HDTV models. However, I've noticed a great disparity in price in some of the seemingly similar type of models. Today's newspaper had HDTV ads from several stores. One ad features a Samsung 40" 1080p 120hz LCD HDTV for $1899, and another store lists a Toshiba 1080p 120 hz 42" LCD HDTV for $799. I'm confused. Can the Samsung model really be 2.35 times better than the Toshiba ? There must be more than meets the eye here. Can someone shed some light on this ?
