Hello imgrateful_1,
1. Yes, 32bit package is for 32bit OS and 64bit is for 64bit OS.
To be sure what version of OS you are running, check this MS article.
2. AVG full installation packages are available here:
http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download.prd-afh
You can download/save the package to your computer and then execute/run it.
3. There are no specific installation files for Windows 7. Installation packages support all operating systems listed here.
Please do not hesitate to ask more questions if there is still anything unclear.
Thank you
I want to confirm some things before i establish the right links for performing a change on my pc. I have a Toshiba 64-bit. os. We have 2 computers in the house the other one is VISTA (ugh!) 32-bit. i have several questions so i get things straight in my head.
1. I have noted that AVG has links that specify for 32-bit and 64-bit. I think that is a "no brainer" to assume I select the one that fits my 2 computers? 32 to the 32bit etc.
2. I found a WIN 7 download website. I didn't know if I should include the link? But scrolling down the page there are 2 links for download. one choice is download and the other is SAVE AVG free ed. to my stuff? Not sure what they are meaning. I want the choice to save to desktop first before completing install process.
3. On the AVG website. there are 3 different choices there;
AVG for windows online installer. ( i have noted from reading in the forum I wouldn't want to choose that method, correct? )
then 2nd choice is bit specific. (32/64) but here it doesn't say anything about program specific to WIN 7. ?
ALSO. I have read other information regarding "safe" process of dumping Norton. I have saved the link to download the uninstall tool that was mentioned as the correct way to do the eldumpo of Norton. So I have all that. And I scan the download AVG (save to the desktop) first before dumping norton. Thanks for reply and to say imgrateful_1 always. computer people are so smart. And thank you so much for the generosity of time and talent in having this great forum active in questions and greast help in the replies.
