Hint: Set errorcontrol for the device to 00.
Any sure fire methods for preventing XP sp2 from automatically restoring a uninstalled
device driver; in this case the 1394 net adapter driver? FTR, I've already renamed
the the current nic1394.sys file in the system32 drivers folder, and renamed sp2.cab,
and I disconnected from the internet before uninstalling the driver via device manager,
but it still successfully replaces it every time. I recall there's a registry entry
with the path to the back up drivers store that you can edit, but I can't recall
where it is in the reg.
I'm trying to install a 3rd party firewire external sound card, but It won't work
till I prevent the 1394 net adapter from re-installing first (I got this scheme to
work on a prior xp sp2 instance).
Thanks for any tips!!!
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
