pressing "l" in my key board opens up Internet Explorer

I need help in resolving an issue that has suddenly started happening in my computer. Any time I press "l", it automatically opens up a new IE window. I checked the IE shortcut, but there is nothing set there.

Where can I find out how this key is linked to IE and remove it? Will appreciate any help.

is it your home page that starts up?
is it the same page thats starts and which one?
if it the latter it sounds like you need to download "ad-aware" or a similar program.
