May be normal for the combo of ME and System Works.

A System Works component turns out to be incompatible with ME. It causes a maximum of 64,000 .INF files in C:\Windows\Inf and another 32,000 files elsewhere. The delay is caused by Windows slugging it out reading all these.

To avoid Explorer hiding these, use a command window and try this command to see the issue.

DIR C:\Windows\Inf /a

How many files?
