Question

preparing automatic repair loop, stuck with loud beep

Mar 21, 2020 10:06AM PDT

Hey, My computer just started acting up recently. Everytime I start my computer it comes up with preparing automatic repair and gets stuck in that loop with a loud beep that keeps on beeping. I've tried to do the boot down thing 3 times when it got to the preparing automatic repair screen but that didn't work. I'm trying to find out how to get my computer working again or how I can get it off of this continuous loop.

Windows?

Please folk, don't leave out details such as make, model, OS and more.

That said, I have had to reload Windows on a few too many PCs over the years since automatic repair is a fine idea which works most of the time but when it fails it usually is one of two things. But first we usually backup what the owner hasn't saved if we can (Boot Linux, copy out files is our goto method.)

1. We need to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS>
2. There is a hardware failure. Fix that (too often an old failing HDD) and then install the OS, drivers and apps.

I've tried to do everything from the youtube videos online. But I think it might be something with my graphics card. It gets stuck into the preparing automatic screen and then today on the monitor it said analog mode on my monitor so I couldn't even see my pc screen no more so another person answered and said that he thinks it is a graphics card issue.
