I had tried to log in from a computer in Cleveland before today and couldn't remember my registration info. I just got home this afternoon.
My mother's funeral was almost like a family reunion since she had 11 brothers and sisters so you can imagine the numbers of cousins and their kids who also came not to mention the friends.
Now that I have the opportunity to reconnect, I didn't want to lose that chance. I was getting email addresses from anyone who had them in additon to phone numbers.
Marty picked up my mother's ashes Wednesday and when he is ready, they will be put into a vault at the Veteran's cemetary nearby awaiting Marty's. I never knew until he told me that because he is a Vet, my mother can be 'buried' with full military honors as well, so he has made arrangements for the military ceremony for her. What a way to go, Mom.
My mother had had by-pass surgery three years ago and two years ago they discovered her aorta from the groin to her heart was nearly blocked all the way as well as an aneurysm in it. Because of her weakened state, they refused to try to operate as they were pretty sure she wouldn't survive the surgery. Her heart got too tired to go on, and that was a blessing in itself rather than have the aneurysm let go. For my mother, it was a case of 'when' rather than 'if' so it wasn't a huge surprise when she was finally called away. She's in a far better place and no longer in pain.
Thank you all for your support and kind words. It was nice to at least be able to read them all from the loaner computer up there, even if I couldn't post any replies. Your words and support brought great comfort to me to know I have friends who care.
