The Canon SX1 and SX10 were announced Sept of 2008 and are identical in most ways
The SX1 was actually a test bed for the new Canon faster processor and CMOS sensor.
It also cost about $200 more than the SX10.
While the SX1 had some advantages, it also had its disappointments too.
It offered a 1920 x 1080 HD video, RAW, and 4 frame per second continuous shooting .jpg shooting.
But the SX10 offered better picture quality.
The SX1 CMOS sensor generates more noise than a CCD sensor.
The SX20 came along about a year later and they added 1280 x 720 HD video and not much more than that.
Since the SX1 has not been updated in a year and a half, I wonder if it is still an active product.
Here is a comparison of specifications of the three cameras mentioned:

Trying to decide between these two cameras (PowerShot SX20 IS vs. PowerShot SX1 IS). Any feedback on either one would be great! Thanks, M
