Powering Down

Dec 30, 2007 8:23AM PST

Hello - and Happy-Healthy 2008 to All

Looking for some guidance re "powering down:" if I will not be accessing my computer for more than a few days, should I turn off my DSL connections? (I have a MacBook but use it plugged in, not on battery.)

Thanks --- Tosca

Actually, I think I remember that set of responses - and they certainly belong in the CLASSICS category.

I've always turned off both my computers when I'll be away and never had a problem, but this time, my internet machine is dsl-connected and I'd prefer turning it off but wondering what the ramifications may be getting it back on - can you help there or must I paddle through all 36 pages of the CLASSICS?!

For me, it's never been a problem.

But as you can imagine I have some solid gear.

Me too, I think - NetGear with Earthlink the provider - no problems since I set up 4 months ago, so perhaps I'm ok either way.

Thanks, as always --- Tosca - and Happy 2008
