Some machines do that when the CMOS BATTERY is dead or too low. I use a Volt meter to check that out.
And such a battery would be in Dell docs.

I recieved a poweredge 1750 from my dads friend who was updating his office and I have tried to plug in my monitor to both video ports on it with no luck as to getting a display. It powers up and sounds like it goes through a booting process. I have never had a server nor really any expierence with them. The only other weird thing I can find that could be wrong is there is a small grey battery pack inside and where it plugs in to the motherboard there is a amber light next to it. But all the rest of the lights on the motherboard are green. I tried googling and could not find anything about this. Hope someone might have some insight. Supposidly it works?
