PowerCinema Aspect Ratio Problem

Jan 6, 2006 4:56AM PST

I have Pentium 4 @3.4 GHz with 1 Gb memory and 2 x 200 Gb HDD's. ATI Radeon X700 Pro.
Digital Terrestrial (DVB-T) TV Tuner card. My software for TV is PowerCinema 4.0.

I have a 19" TFT monitor

When I watch PowerCinema digital TV on my PC with an aspect ratio of 4:3 the picture is almost "normal", just slightly narrow.People look slightly too slim. When I change the PowerCinema aspect ratio to 16:9 I get a tall, narrow picture. It seems as if the aspect ratio is 9:16, instead of 16:9, if you see what I mean! (Now I come to think of it, the 4:3 looks more like 3:4 !)

The fault appears to be within the PowerCinema software as other players have no trouble displaying a "letterbox" picture when widescreen is selected or widescreen DVD's are played (in fact, in Video mode, my PowerCinema will play a 16:9 "letterbox" picture, with black strips above & below).

Anybody any idea what might be causing the problem. Cyberlink e-mail support has not been much help. They never actually answer the question I am asking.
