so plugging in any psu will fry the mobo and other components. i thnik in order to upgrade ur psu, u have to buy from pc power and cooling which have expensive psus.
I called Dell Tec support three times to get some information and as of today I am still clueless LOL?
I wanted to make sure that they didn?t have any proprietary computer components (NO) in my dell so that I could upgrade my power supply for my ATI 800 XL AGP graphics card. I told them that I have installed an extra DVD burner in addition to running a few peripherals through my USB 2.0.
They told me if I upgrade my power supply I would also have to change my motherboard and cards since my computer came with the appropriate power supply for the mother board (250w)?. If I upgrade to a 300w or higher this extra power will go through my motherboard and its component which may damage it. What the Hell.. I asked them if my existing power supply is ATX? They didn?t give me a definite answer but stated that computers before and during my computer manufacture came with ATX power supplies. So I asked for the spec of my motherboard so that I could research this answer my self and was told ?excuse me sir but you are getting into the engineering aspects of your computer and we do not have this information?. To make a even longer story short what do you guys thing about my issue of upgrading my power supply. All this for the sake of GAMING LOL..
