This might be a self built. I've run into this and once in a while find an extra mounting post under the motherboard. If this came across my view I'd pull the motherboard for a check.
Since yesterday I have a new power supply and graphics card. Obviously, I started to install immediately. The graphics card has given me no problems, the PSU though.
To make anything clearer, my specifiations ...
- Processor: Intel Core i5 - 750 - 2.67GHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD6
(- Old psu: Antec EA 380D Green - 380 watts)
- New psu: EVGA Supernova 750 G2 - 750 Watt
(- Old graphics card: GeForce GTS 250)
- New graphics card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SSC 4GB
- DVD writer: Samsung Super Rite Master SH-S223
- HDD: Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB - ST32000542AS
- SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
I connected everything properly according to the manual. Also watched some videos on youtube to make sure I made no mistakes.
And then the moment of truth. I start the PC for the first time and after some "stutter" it succeeded to boot completely. It was late at that time and shutted down the PC after half an hour (after installing video card) plotted with the intent to do more today. No sooner said than done so, PC started up again and after less than fifteen minutes the PC just fell off. It is no longer managed back to boot, the psu refuse service. Only the fans are working for a moment but that's it.
And now the questions.
Could my psu be damaged? Is it too much voltage for stabbing what I have into my PC? I took the 750W psu with the intention of later stabbing a 2nd video card.
Is it my PC cooling? The power felt something warm after all. Which cooling would you suggest? I'm not exactly aware of what is good or not.
Could it be something else that caused this?
All answers and tips are welcome!
Thanks in advance!
