you have to buy a Dell style PSU
as Dell has their own speshul form factor
select Dell PSU
they are the company that builds ALL the PSU's that Dell puts into it's desktops
SENT THE FOLLOWING TO DELL TECH SUPPORT.........NOT MUCH HELP.....I'M GUESSING, I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLY UNIT....CAN ANY OF YOU TELL ME IF I HAVE TO REPLACE WITH A DELL POWER SUPPLY OR CAN I USE ATX OR SOMETHING SIMILAR??? IF SO WHAT AND WHERE...
I'm adding my name to a list of many (Dell Community
Forum) who's Dimension 4600 died...About a month ago I shut down
normally (no prior problems) and when I attempted to reboot the next
day...Nothing...My system would not - and will not - power on...This
appears to be a common occurance with the 4600 which leads me to believe
that Dell has a customer service issue RE: faulty power supply
module.......Regardless of warranty....
I've gone through my system. Uninstalled and reinstalled all the
hardware components. Checked connections etc.....which is about the
limit of my ability......STILL NOTHING...In reading all the info. posted
on the community forum it appears that 90%+ of problem is with the power
