Power Supply Dies

Dec 26, 2004 8:19AM PST

Have a new (out of the box 4 months) P4 unit, running XP as its OS. The power supply keeps dying off on me -- have had to replace it twice since opening. Any idea what may be causing this? At first I thought it may have been the cheap surge protector, and bought a new 'beefed-up' one. But, it's done it again! Any help would be appreciated.

Some replace the power supply with the same size. I tack on 100 more Watts to be on the safe side.

Another issue which we lost a dozen supplies was the bum motherboard capacitor issue.

Bob,

Thanks for the quick response! A buddy had recommended adding an extra 100 watts to the unit, so I did, this time. I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens!
