What happens if you connect the pc direct to the power line adapter?.....bypass the router.
I live at one end of quite a large old stone house, far away from the router (which is in the centre of the house and shared with the opposite end of the house otherwise I'd just move it closer) so the WiFi signal is awful in my living areas.
I've got a power line network set up which appears to be working OK according to the adaptors themselves. The adaptor at my end is then wired into my old Sky router (model SR102).
The ISP is the Post Office (don't get me started but can't change it because of the landlords) which means the Sky router is giving me grief. By which I mean it says it has no Internet and takes me to the "Let's fix it" page where none of the options apply because I'm not with Sky. Is there any way around this?
Elsewhere online there are fixes for using a Sky router with a different ISP but not via a different router (ZyXel) and power line network.
Many thanks
