It means this app has no decoder for the audio track. There are tomes on the web about workarounds but can really wipe out a person just getting into Windows, CODECs and more.
Try this. Head to Ninite.com and get a codec pack. Here's why we use Ninite.com:

Look under Media, then get the K-Lite pack. If that doesn't solve it you have to inspect what encoding the audio track is in your MPEG file and then ask Power Director's owner/company what they support.
Bob
After a long break I decided to try making a movie from my video travels through France using PD8
I successfully captured the Video into an mpg file but when I try to edit it with PD8 there is no original Audio.
If I try to do the same in Roxio Creator or Windows Movie Maker the audio is there.
What should I be ticking or unticking in Power Director 8 which is the program I much prefer to use?
Can some kind soul supply an answer?
I have tried Googling but it has not helped as the suggestions are usually to do with added audio music or voice overs. Mine is original audio which I am happier to use.
Many thanks all
