Question

Possible Virus?

Aug 25, 2015 11:19AM PDT

I spilt drink over my laptop end of July, I left it to dry for over a week and it was fine. Minus a couple of keys. It was working fine till the 20th of August. Come the 21st once I turned on my laptop the keyboard would not work, (luckily I have a wireless one,) on top of that when the mouse hovers or clicks on the desktop it disappears and only reappears when I have opened a file or application. Also when on chrome, internet explorer etc, and also any document folder it continuously refreshes itself making these applications useless. I have run many a Norton scan as well as updating to Windows 10 but these problems still exist. I have no idea what to do next...

Any ideas? Many thanks!

Answer
Spilling anything other than water could cause problems.

Even though your laptop worked for a couple of weeks, anything other than water getting inside is usually bad news. If that laptop's over a couple of years old, you might just want to get a new one. If it's less than two years old, you could take it to a shop, but it could end up costing several hundred bucks.

Good luck.

just as keyboard was interfered with by the spill, the touchpad seems not also to be failing and maybe shorting out.
