..but I haven't tried it on Vista..
The basic "Works" program which is frequently installed on brand name machines doesn't have Microsoft Word and as such, shouldn't have any conflicts with Office. (the "Works Suite" products DO have Word though.)
Hope this helps.

I have a new laptop because my old one died suddenly. I bought whatever the store had in stock: HP dv9410us 1GB (will upgrade to 2GB) and 160GB HD. It came with Vista Home Premium (i.e. with Microsoft Works and Multimedia Center).
is it possible to keep Microsoft Works but also add a version on Microsoft Office for Business for Vista (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)?
I do NOT want to use Microsoft's Windows Mail. I just want to transfer my .pst files onto Outlook and stick with Outlook.
Thanks fo anyone who knows the answer or has some thoughts on this matter.
