Possible partial solution to DRM?

by nvipsk144 / January 25, 2006 4:15 AM PST

DRM seems to be bothering everyone. One day while listening to Buzz Out Loud I was thinking of a possible solution to all this mess! I know no one wants to hear any more about it, but think about this idea!

You currently pay $0.99 per song with most music download services like Rhapsody. And, like Tom said, bits can always be copied, so maybe offering a $0.99 song with DRM and a slightly higher priced version with "less DRM" and "less" restrictions. People will always find a way around so charging more for less risk of criminal penalties could mean a win-win situation for both the consumer and media industries.

Let me know what you think of this idea and whether it could be a possible or atleast partial solution.
