The idea of turning into some HDMI or VGA monitor was only done by engineering type folk. It's not trivial and may cost more than a monitor.
If the machine works there are ways to use it as a second display over a network. Example?

I have hp pavilion 23 b026in ... it has nice 1080p display .. and I want it to use as external display .. the thing is it doesn't have any video in port is there anyway to make it possible ?
