Possible defect help

Feb 15, 2009 11:39PM PST

This is my first post on this forum.

I have a 40" a557 (uk version of a550), I will have had it for 2 months now on thursday. But recently when I turn on the tv for the first time, the left half of the screen will flicker for about 3 mins but then will go away, its very noticable on light scenes. Is this a fault?

_Foggy_,

Does it happen regardless of the input?

It sounds like if it happens on all inputs, you might want to consider an under-warranty service. You can do that by calling 800-SAMSUNG.

It happens on all inputs but becuase it is only for a short period of time, could it be the left side of the backlight warming up or should it just not flicker at all.

_Foggy_,

It shouldn't flicker at all. I would definitely recommend getting your unit serviced.
