POS software?

Oct 28, 2004 7:22AM PDT

we're starting a new system at work where each kid at our Youth Center will have a point-earning account. There will be 200-400 accounts over the span of a year. Kids will use a smart card or mag card to add/subtract points.

We won a grant to purchase software & hardware (card reader/writers, payment terminals) for this program. I am not sure where to begin. Does anyone know a simple, very basic point of purchase software system that would fit my needs?

I've been searching on bizrate.com and can't find anything. I might be searching for the wrong kind of software. Should i be looking at retail loyalty program software? Membership software? Any suggestions for web sites to research or anything about the kind of software I need is much appreciated.

thanks.

That's not enough detail but I have been developing Visual Basic and MySQL custom programs that do "something" like that. For me, the first cut happens in week 1 and a field trial is in week 3.

The hard part is in your specs. If you get too hung up on Glitz then it stops or if you dictate language/database it also stops. Boston area?

As to the hardware, it won't matter since we mostly look at keyboard wedges.

Hello Salley, perhaps I might be able to help you. I am very familiar with POS software. If you would like, email me directly.
